Rev. Dr. Jameson K. Pallikunnil is the Vicar and President of the Durham Mar Thoma Congregation. Originally from Kottarakkara and a member of Kizhakketheruvu Pattamala Mar Thoma Church, he was ordained as a priest of the Mar Thoma Church on July 23, 2003, after completing his Bachelors in Theology from United Theological College, Bangalore.
He has served faithfully in various parishes across India and abroad, including Bhilai Rajhara, Navi Mumbai, Dublin, Belfast, Switzerland, and Trivandrum. He also held key leadership roles as Director of the JMM Study Centre, Trivandrum, and Superintendent of the Juhanon Mar Thoma Jubilee Mandiram, Anaprampal. His contributions to the church extend to his service in the Mar Thoma Liturgical Commission, Lectionary Committee, and Diocesan Councils of Mumbai and Trivandrum.
Rev. Dr. Jameson holds Master’s degrees in Sociology and Liturgical Theology and earned a PhD in Liturgical Theology from St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, Ireland. He completed his Post-Doctoral studies in Eucharistic Theology at Trinity College, Dublin. A recognized author, he has published four books on liturgical studies and received the Maliyekkal M.C. George Kassessa Memorial Award for best author among clergy in 2017 and 2019.
His wife Honey Jameson (Manganam St. Peter’s) and their children Haaran, Darshan, and Mahal. Currently settled in Atlanta, Georgia, Achen is also the Vice Chairman of the Carmel Marthoma Center.
